Spooky Halloween Graphics – Creepy Vintage Baby Dolls
Not everyone is into Halloween and, to be honest, I’m not especially into it, but my sister is. And, as sisters sometimes do, she has always managed to drag me into her love for all things creepy, spooky, and soul-stirring. Soul-stirring might be too strong of a word since we don’t really like horror movies or things of a bloody nature.
Our curiosities of the season reside somewhere between Casper the Friendly Ghost and Practical Magic. But anything too terrifying or too serial killer-ish – and we’re out.
I usually create some sort of graphics set around ‘Spooky Season’ and this year’s graphics were so much fun to create. Side note: if you’re new to Pink Lemonade Company, one of it’s ‘departments’ is a graphics site, PLC Insiders, where we release new graphics every month. We’ve been going strong since 2017 which feels weird to type since it’s just gone so quickly.
But, back to the ghouls and goblin graphics (or lack thereof). I decided to create this season’s theme around creepy baby dolls. Cue the slow music box music and eery-sounding swing set creaking. So frightful! Most of my work is heavy-handed in the nature of vintage and this set was no exception.
Creepy Vintage Graphics Set
I find that I make up little stories as I’m designing the graphics and seeing what unfolds. I imagined these old items being uncovered in an old Victorian attic long forgotten. No doubt the cobwebs had to be dusted off, and the smell alone was a bit haunting. Clearly, there was some mystery around the eery, shadowy figures in the photos. And questions to be summoned. The chief question being Who did these little disregarded dolls belong to? And, more so, the answers will never be revealed. Creepy Vintage indeed. But fun nonetheless.
